Mai tai
Method 1
Ingredients
golden rum
orange curacao
orgeat syrup
lime juice
sugar syrup
ice cubes
crushed ice
dark rum
To garnish
pineapple, a lime wheel or a cocktail cherry (or all three!)
STEP 1
Pour the golden rum, curacao, orgeat, lime juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice cubes. Shake until the outside of the shaker feels really cold.
STEP 2
Fill a tumbler with crushed ice then strain the cocktail over it. Slowly pour the dark rum over the top so it stains the top of the drink a rusty gold.
STEP 3
Garnish with fruit like pineapple, lime and cocktail cherries if you like.
Method 2
Ingredients:
- 2 oz dark rum
- 1 oz white rum
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Mint leaves for garnish
- Pineapple slice for garnish
Instructions:
1. Fill a shaker with ice.
2. Add the dark rum, white rum, orange liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
3. Shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with crushed ice.
5. Garnish with mint leaves and a pineapple slice.
6. Enjoy your refreshing Mai Tai cocktail!
